“In a society of facades and walls of pretense, Sarah Mae is refreshingly honest. Her words will echo and take hold in the lives of many young mothers who may not fully know how to give voice to their overwhelmed hearts.”
—Renee Paris, Hear My Heartbeat
Loving our children to the depths of our souls, we cherish them deeply, but motherhood is just plain hard. It’s overwhelming, tiring, confusing, and often times, lonely. Most of us don’t have the help that we so desperately long for, or support systems, or someone just to give us just a break from the whirlwind of it all.
We need mentors, wise, godly women who are willing to enter our lives and share with us their life-lived offerings. We are pre-wired to desire wisdom and advice from a real live person who really cares about us personally; acceptance within our failures and limitations; and grace that gives us hope as we navigate this beautiful, crazy, messy season of life. This is our heart’s cry.
If it’s your heart’s cry as well, then friend, perhaps Desperate will minister to you.
Desperate will lead you to hope, refreshing your ideals, while helping and inspiring you as you embrace this profound journey of motherhood. No formulas or rules to keep, but a relationship, a coffee-talk between two friends, who give life and love to one another amidst the realities of life.
Included in the book are practical steps to take, Bible study and journal exercises in each chapter that will lead you to identify ways in which you can grow as a mom. Mentoring advice for real-life situations is also included.
We pray this offering will leave you soul-filled, refreshed, and hopeful.
And may we suggest, read it with a friend. Don’t do motherhood alone.
“Sally embodies the mentor so many of us wish we had.”
-Tsh Oxenreider, Simple Mom
